| "The Last Bandit" collects
material recorded by former Swell Maps front-man Nikki Sudden over the past
20 years of a steady and lavish career. Nikki started recording
solo immediately after the demise of the Maps in 1980, and has
accumulated an impressive body of work. Nikki is a tireless live
artist who spends over 9 months a year on the road; he is also
a prolific songwriter who has collaborated with an impressive
array of musicians, from Peter Buck of REM fame to Jeff Tweedy
of Wilco, to his own brother Epic Soundtracks. "The Last Bandit" is a perfect introduction
to the work of this British guitarist/songwriter, it is also
a nice treat for the fans : this double CD album includes many
of Nikki's classics, as well as rare material from early singles.
It also includes one bonus CD, of a previously unreleased acoustic
album. All tracks are remastered and many have been remixed for
this release. All in all, a great record not to be missed. |
